Meet the Team
Joanne (Jo) Brassington
General Psychologist (Clinical Registrar)
I am a psychologist with a Master of Clinical Psychology from QUT. I am currently undertaking a registrar program to be endorsed as a Clinical Psychologist (which means I am doing extra training and supervision in this area). I have experience working within university and public hospital settings, most recently the public perinatal psychology service at Catherine’s House. I have a particular interest in helping women and men adjust to pregnancy and parenthood. Beyond this, I have interest and experience with a range of mental health presentations, and work within an evidence-based framework.
I strive to be warm and personable, taking the time to listen and collaborate with people to determine the best approach for them, meeting them where they are at. I also acknowledge not everyone wants a structured therapy approach, so I work within a personalised blended approach, or a non-directive counselling approach when appropriate.
